From: Marcio G. von Muhlen, Co-Director, 2009 MIT Clean Energy Prize

Dear Students,

I'm writing to inform you of an opportunity open to all Caltech students both graduate and undergraduate. The MIT Clean Energy Prize is a student business plan competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy and NSTAR in which student teams will compete for a total of $500,000 in cash and other prizes by entering their business plans for innovations in Clean Energy. There are five categories to enter and the winners of each category will receive significant awards and publicity opportunities. The categories are Biomass, Clean Hydrocarbons, Energy Efficiency & Infrastructure, Renewables, and Transportation.

For more information, see our website at www.MIT100K.org/cep/.

The deadline for submission is February 26, 2009. All that is required for that date is a two-page executive summary and a 12 slide PowerPoint Presentation. Semifinalists in each category will receive entrepreneurial, legal, and technical mentoring from high caliber professionals who are MIT Clean Energy Prize sponsors and mentors.

Questions can be sent to CleanEnergyPrize@mit.edu.
